I would personally like to welcome you to our class page.
Myself and the Year 6 team hope you have all had a wonderful, relaxed summer and are settling back into the routine of school well.
I would like to take this opportunity to introduce myself as the year 6A class teacher. I am Miss Walker and working alongside me to support, care for and nurture your child are Miss Thompson, Mrs Nishimwe and Mrs Bashir.
Each Friday, homework will be set from CPG books and additional arithmetic work which will be sent home. Homework is to be returned the following Wednesday. Spellings will also be set on a Friday, and the children will then be tested on these on a Thursday morning. Reading books will be sent home on a Monday and we would appreciate it if you could try to hear your child read as often as possible. Reading books and reading records are to be returned to school every day so that they can be checked.
PE lessons will be taught on Monday and Wednesday this term, please can you ensure that your child comes to school in their PE kit on these days.
During these times, we would like to remind you that arrival at school by 8:45 and dismissal is at 3:15. When collecting and dropping of your child please remember to social distance where possible. We also ask that children only bring into school a named water bottle, named lunch box and a coat if it is cold; all other equipment they will need will be provided by the school.
I would like to take this opportunity to thank you for all of your support with homework and the learning opportunities you provide for your child. We are very excited for the year ahead and we know the children will love our topics of The Wars and Letters from the Lighthouse.
Please do not hesitate to contact us if you have any questions or concerns regarding your child’s education.
