Welcome to the Year 3D class page.
Welcome to Autumn 2 term.
Please find on this webpage the new timetables for both Year 3 classes. As you may have noticed, PE days have changed. The children will need both an outdoor and indoor PE kit in school every week as they will be taking part in outdoor Netball on a Monday afternoon and indoor dance on a Thursday afternoon.
This half term we will be continuing to learn about Ancient Egypt and will be developing our writing skills alongside this theme. For maths we will be looking at multiplication and division and we really encourage you to practice the recall of times tables at home with your child.
For the next eight weeks, the children will have the opportunity to begin learning the basics of the language of Spanish and working alongside a music teacher as well as an artist.
It is going to be a really exciting and busy half term as we lead up to Christmas and we can’t wait to see what the children achieve in this short space of time.
Miss Downing and Miss Cullinane.
We hope you all had a lovely summer and have settled back into the school day routine well.
I would like to introduce myself as the year 3D class teacher. I am Miss Downing and I have been teaching at Corpus Christi for 6 years now. Working alongside me this year is Mrs Mehta, Miss Sexton and Mrs Feetenby.
As you are aware, Year Three is the first step on your child’s journey through Key Stage Two. Therefore, expectations are heightened. Your child will be expected to take responsibility for all of their possessions and should not bring toys/valuables into school. Your child needs to come to school wearing the correct uniform, following the school policy, including a tie and appropriate black school shoes. In addition to this, your child should have a PE kit bag in school with both an indoor and outdoor kit available which follows the school policy. During Autumn 1 the days your child will have PE will be a Monday and a Wednesday.
Your child will receive a home/school folder which will contain an appropriate reading book with a reading record, we expect you to listen to your child read every night and sign the reading record to show evidence of this. Also on a Friday, your child will be sent home with Spellings and a Maths and Grammar homework book. Spellings sheets do not need to come back into school and they will be tested on their spellings the following Friday. Maths and Grammar books will be expected back in on the following Wednesday.
Please look on the timetable to see what lessons we will be doing each day. Also check the curriculum to see what skills we will be learning this term. The homework mat is also shown.
If parents or grandparents have any skills that you could offer in any of our subject areas, please let us know. Your help is greatly appreciated.
I would like to take this opportunity to thank you for all of your support with homework and learning opportunities.
I am delighted to be teaching your child this year and if you have any queries, do not hesitate to ask.
Miss Downing, Mrs Mehta, Miss Sexton and Mrs Feetenby.
