Welcome to Year Three!
It is our second year together and it is going to be a very exciting year. My name is Miss Summers and it is my second year teaching your child. Miss Parry is our wonderful Teaching Assistant who will also be supporting your child throughout this year. I am very much looking forward to supporting your child on their new journey. As a team we ensure that we create a happy, stimulating and safe learning environment where your child will excel and flourish educationally, socially and emotionally. This is a very exciting year as some children will be making their communion in the summer term.
In Class 3B, we promote the values of respect, trust and care for one another. Children are encouraged to see mistakes as a learning process since most learning occurs when we fail to succeed in something the first time. Determination is key and children are always strongly encouraged to have a go and show independent learning.
Throughout Year Three, the children are expected to read every night and have their record signed daily. The children often have the opportunity to read during the school day and so therefore, it would be beneficial for the children to keep their books in their bags. The children will change their reading books every Friday. The class will take part in outdoor PE and indoor PE. Please see the PE policy on the website for the correct PE uniform and our class timetable each half term for the days we will have PE. For the first half term, the children will have PE every Wednesday and Friday afternoon. The theme for our learning for the first half term is the Egyptians and this curriculum subject will be weaved through all of our subjects.
A polite reminder that the school start time for Year Three is 8:45-9 AM and the finish time is 3:15 PM. The children should bring a clearly labelled water bottle into school and a packed lunch box, if they have packed lunch. The children should also bring a coat to permit all weather conditions. The children should not be bringing school bags or personal pencil cases.
Please always feel welcome to ask questions to any of us throughout the year. We are always happy to help! We are excited to welcome you and your child into the new school year and joining you and your child on their next exciting adventure!
