Welcome to Year 3A
The class teacher in Year 3A this year will be Mrs Poolton, supported by Ms Agyemang, Miss Lewis and Mrs Metcalf and we are all looking so forward to working with you this year to continue Year 3’s journey of learning.
Homework will be set on a Friday and is expected to be completed and handed in by the following Wednesday. If you have any issues with your child’s homework, let me know and I do my best to help and support you. Spellings will also be given out on a Friday. The children will then be tested on these spellings the following Friday. We would really appreciate your help with supporting your child whilst they complete their homework, and by encouraging them to practise their spellings with you.
You child should read at home at least five times each week and it would be so helpful if you could record in their reading record when they have read at home. We will endeavour to change reading books every week.
PE lessons will take place on Mondays and Thursdays this term. Please can you ensure that your child comes to school in their correct school PE uniform, including a black tracksuit top or hoodie in cooler weather.
Please ensure that your child has a named water bottle in school each day. This should only contain water and not juice. Children who bring packed lunches to school may bring in juice for lunchtime but may only drink water through the rest of the day.
I am really looking forward to sharing many exciting learning opportunities and adventures with Year 3A at school this year and I really appreciate all your support with the learning that continues at home. Please feel free to send in any pictures of adventures or learning opportunities your child experiences out of school hours. It is always lovely for them to share these with their classmates as well as their teachers.
Please do not hesitate to contact me if you have any questions or need any support with homework.
