Vision, Mission and Values

Our vision is for all pupils to grow in faith, knowledge and ability to become an active member of  God’s family, so that they can make a positive  difference to the world around them.

As parents you are the first and most significant educators in your child’s life. By having your child baptised or choosing to send your child to Corpus Christi, you have expressed your wish to have them brought up and educated within the Catholic faith. Working closely together, with a strong partnership between parents and the school, we aspire to nurture the unique qualities of each child and allow them to flourish and grow to their full potential.

At Corpus Christi, Christ is present in our daily lives and our mission statement ‘Walking in Christ’s footsteps, opening hearts and minds’, is lived out through the curriculum and all we do. This Catholic ethos ensures that Corpus Christi Catholic School remains a special and inclusive environment where all children can learn and grow, in the presence of staff that respect and care for your child.

We aim to bring children closer to God by learning and understanding the teachings of Jesus, so that we all can lead a rich and fulfilling life, in turn, helping others and bringing ourselves closer to God. These teachings are enhanced through the support of our parish priest, Fr Stephen Fawcett and the opportunities provided by being part of the wider Romero Academy.

As part of the Corpus family, we embrace six core values that underpin our all that we do and our distinctive Catholic ethos. These include Courage, Openness, Respect, Perseverance, Unity and Service. These values are taught explicitly throughout the year, but are also woven into the fabric of school life, allowing all pupils and staff to live out our mission.

We hope that each person that belongs to the Corpus family, or has the opportunity to be part of the wider school community will feel the spirit and warmth of Christ’s welcome. We know that we can only achieve this by working in true partnership with parents, our families and the parish community to ensure that Corpus Christi remains a very special place.

Our Mission

‘Walking in Christ’s footsteps, Opening Hearts and Minds’ reflects the ethos of our caring school.

Our Values

Courage

Courage involves making good choices in the face of fear or obstacles.

‘Do not be afraid, do not be discouraged for the Lord God will be with you wherever you go’

Joshua 1:9

Openness

Openness means to be willing to embrace new things, fresh ideas, and experiences.

‘And you will know the truth and the truth will set you free’

John 8:32

Respect

Listen to others when we are speaking and playing fair. We are using manners when we speak to people and wait our turn.

‘So in everything, do to others what you would have them do to you’

Matthew 7:12

Perseverance

Perseverance is a long word, but it is pretty simple, to understand. To persevere means to keep trying, even when it’s hard.

‘Those who trust in the Lord will find new strength ’- Isaiah 40:31

‘Don’t give up’  Galatians 6:9

Unity

Unity is doing something together at the same time and working together with a shared goal. Unity makes big tasks seem easy. It is fun and makes us feel like one Corpus family.

‘There is one body, but it has many parts. But all parts make up one Body.’

Corinthians 12:12

Service

Service starts with God. When we serve others,  we are actually serving God.

‘As each has received a gift, use it to serve others’

Peter 4:10
